Community Awards for African British role models - Journalism

The people listed on this page are the true unsung champions of our community. They contribute to the African British community for no reward, no publicity, and are invisible to the national media except for when their opinion is needed to stir controversy. Our children need to read about them and understand that these are the UK's very own Martin Luthur king's, Rosa Parks, and Malcom X's. Ligali publicly pays its respect to you all.

The ligali motif is inspired by both the ancient Nigerian Nsibiri sign for human relationship & communication, and 4 of the 7 Kawanza principles Umoja (Unity) , Nia (Purpose) , Ujima (Responsibility) and Imani (Faith)

We believe that identifying and reclaiming our original identity is an integral part of promoting the emotional, spiritual and mental progression of the African community in Western society.
